Who's Making All Those Free Podcasts?

By Mark Sounding

Podcasting, unlike any other media forms, almost never has charges for services, and the majority of feed producers distribute free podcasts. This puts at odds with, say, online radio stations, reports websites which offer media to customers, or the net music biz generally.

Even though podcasting has very direct correlations with industries like stories and music that have powerful business models, podcasting differs.

Listening to podcasts is a pleasant experience. Particularly if you're commuting, it's a great way to leverage that time. Wear a top quality set of the best iPhone headphones available, and listen away!

Podcasting doesn't truly have a financial model, and barely any person is podcasting to gain from it. There are some businesses and stories sites that podcast, but they do it as a technique to supplement their companies and to gain technical geek credibility, not to make money. This is an odd thing, but explainable in light of what podcasting is.

The free podcast problem isn't troublesome, and podcasting differs in one or two key techniques from other media areas. First, podcasting involves the physical transfer of a file from the host to the users computer. An internet radio station does not do this; all that they supply to their listeners is a streaming sound file that can't be saved without difficulty and work.

If someone did manage to do that the station would have strong grounds for suing them since they were never given the rights to keep and store the files. By podcasting the entire file to the users computer, express permission is granted theuser to replicate and use as they wish.

Second, the podcasts are, usually, made by individuals who've low costs concerned in making and distributing the files, in opposition to a stories broadcast or song by a music company. These people have small reason to charge for their work since there is little cost to them to do so.

As the files are distributed in a way permits their duplicating and does not control the media, and since podcasting is a particularly low cost media outlet, feed producers have small reason or ability to charge for their work.

The Benefits of Switching to a Smart Phone

By Gareth Jale

A recent study conducted by the CDC's National Center for Health Statistics showed that many families are leaving their landline smart phone behind. In 2007, only 13.6% of homes relied solely on cell phones. As of 2010, that number increased to 26.6% of families. Many people are wondering if home phone lines are on their way to extinction. There are smart phones out there like the LG Thrill that provide a lot more features and benefits that what regular home phones do.

There are several reasons why consumers are choosing to get rid of their landlines. One of the reasons is cut costs. Almost everyone nowadays has a smart phone. There are even some children who receive mobile phones as soon as they are able to use them. With each family member carrying their own personal cell phone, there isn't usually a need for a home phone line. The fact is most families refuse to pay for any unnecessary service. many young teens and adults will also never pay for a landline when they have their cell phones. When leaving their parent's home, many young adults don't even consider purchasing home phone service.

Another reason why families are choosing to get rid of their landlines is because smart phones are inexpensive. They are so inexpensive, especially if you think about all the great features they come with. Many smart phones users don't just pay for talk time, they also pay for text messaging and data packages. When using this device, most users will also purchase cell phone accessories like a case and a screen protector. By leaving your old hose phone behind you will also be cutting down and making your bills more affordable.

However, cost is not the only reason families are switching to smart phones. Many smart phone users simply feel like owning a landline is unnecessary. In most homes, landlines are used to keep in touch with friends, family, and neighbors. However, smart phones allow users to stay connected to friends and family, even when they aren't home. A smart phone offers voicemail, call waiting, caller ID, and other popular services.

The LG Thrill also offers many features that home phones do not. When using this smart phone, consumers can play games, browse the internet, listen to their favorite songs, take pictures, download useful apps, and communicate with friends and family. The bottom line is that mobile devices have multiple uses that make them simply put, better than other devices. When using a certain LG accessories, like a car mount, these LG Thrill accessories also double as a navigation system.

Editing videos on the iPhone

By Brooke L. Berry

Apple has only ever made one type of phone but nonetheless the iPhone has been staggeringly popular ever since it was first released. Before the iPhone phones were very limited and so upon its release it was immediately miles ahead of its competition. The iPhone allowed people to do things on a phone which they never could before. This ability came from downloadable applications which people could choose to have on their phone if they found them useful or entertaining.

People are able to do all of these things because of downloadable applications which are known simply as Apps and for those who like to create interesting videos the iPhone has plenty of Apps dedicated to video editing. iMovie is Apple's own video editing application and one of the most popular available. It allows people to edit their videos quite thoroughly and also add various effects to go with the type of video they are creating.

Cinecam is one of the most recent video editing applications which have been released and it offers far more than many of its competitors. Like a lot of the other applications Cinecam has plenty of effects including coloured filters and retro style frames but one of the biggest benefits is that people can share their videos. Straight from the App people can upload their masterpieces to sites like YouTube and Facebook for people to see.

Then there is Splice which takes on the form of conventional video editing software commonly found on Macs and PCs. Users can crop their videos, adjust the speed of parts and also splice in parts of different videos. This is an excellent feature as it allows means people don't have to film things all in one go and they can pick and choose between the parts they want.

Another good but quite basic video editor for the iPhone is Camera Plus Pro. Although this App is very simple to use and is limited in features it provides some fantastic results. The App consists mainly of just filters which if you already have a good video they can give it a polished finish.

By Gareth Jale

In order to get the best experience from the Nexus S 4G, it is a wise idea to understand the features that come with it, as well as the ones that don't. As mentioned above, it comes with a 1 GHz hummingbird CPU. This kind of processor is a single core, so you won't be able to juggle too much applications with it, but it is still pretty fast enough for your to play your apps, surf the Internet and watch movies and media.

This smart phone will also come with 512MB of memory which makes it easy to run apps and games. The smart phone also comes with an 800 x 400 pixel 4 inch display, which makes it much easier to watch all sorts of movies and videos. The screen isn't the best on the market, but it's a good one, and you won't have trouble watching movies or sending texts or reading articles from the New York Times on it.

It's a good idea to check out some of the accessories that are hitting the market if you want to get the most out of your device. For starters, you might be interested in a case, which is a good way to protect your phone from daily life. You will want a case that keeps the phone going when it hits the floor, but at the same time, you won't want it to be so big and bulky that it keeps you from wanting to use the phone in the first place. Balance is key.

Other mobile accessories to consider when looking to get the most out of your phone is a screen protector. A screen protector will keep the bright super AMOLED display of this device in brand new condition. When looking for a screen protector, pay close attention to the material of which it is made. Some are made of glass while others are made of a thin reinforced plastic. If you do pick up one made of glass be sure to get one that has glass that is shatter proof.

The Many Uses Of The iPad

By Eric Stafford

For regular people who have average interests in technologically advanced gadgets, the iPad is perceived to be just another expensive instrument from Apple. By average interests, we mean those who do not make it a point to research a newly launched product nor visit the manufacturer's website with passion.

Motivated by friend recommendations or family encouragement or some showoff at work, we decide to see what all the hype is about, so we go to the Apple website for more information. We aren't concerned with techie specifications. We don't care about processor speeds. We don't care about native support. What we do care about is: "What cool things can I do with the iPad?"

The iPad is like a cell phone on steroids or a laptop on a diet, depending on how you want to look at it. It is a mobile computer; mobile like our cell phone, but not as big and bulky as our laptop. It is what is called a "tablet". The screen is much smaller than a laptop screen and substantially larger than your cell phone. It is more along the lines of a netbook, only an inch or two larger.

It doesn't have a mouse, or a keyboard. You "click and drag" using your fingers. Just like you've probably seen the bartender do for quite a few years now. You simply use the multi-touch screen and click and drag items that way. Should you need to attach your iPad to a keyboard, it does offer that compatibility. You can also hold the screen in either "landscape" or portrait orientation. When you turn it, the screen is designed to rotate so you are always looking at it in the correct position.

The purpose of the iPad is to connect to the Internet, play games, watch videos or view photos. Additionally you can create business presentations or write papers and articles. Apps, or applications, are what really power the iPad. They allow you to do any number of fun, serious or important tasks. The best way to find out what apps are available is to go to Best iPad Apps 2012 because they list they best apps in every category and it is updated every hour!

Apple's iWork is a product similar to Microsoft Office. With the app, you can create presentations, documents and spreadsheets.

Basically, the default browser is Safari, which also happens to be created and designed by Apple engineers. As of late, Opera Mini has become available to iPad users as an alternative Web browser.

The iPad screen resolution is high enough to vividly display games, books, videos and photos and the speaker is sufficient but you can also buy stand-alone speakers.

To connect to the Internet, you can do so via a WiFi or 3G connection. To utilize a 3G connection, you must have a 3G service provider and a 3G SIM card from that provider. The iPad gives you the ability to switch back and forth as you choose to take advantage of the best connectivity for your given location. On average, 3G is faster than a WiFi connection.

App icons are used to organize the iPad display. The user can select his frequently used apps onto his Favorites section and these can be easily accessed.

The iPad is a cool device that has many uses. App developers are always coming up with useful and fun programs to entertain or enhance productivity. There is no telling where the technology will take us next.

Need What You Take in Buying Gadgets

By Chris Kelly

Purchasing New

There's a very trustworthy saying "take what you need and need what you take." This is maybe a phase that gives the best advice when talking of purchasing the next big thing. If it is the newest gadgets the much hyped iPhone release or simply a high-end processor taking what we need does not appear to be the case anymore.

Need and Need

This is truly where the delineation begins when talking about buying new releases. The market seems to typically favour more modern gizmos because they look flashy and because they look this way, they're immediately not so good as their forebears. For example, and please do not take this the wrong way, Apple packages their hardware when referring to their iPhone conquest. You cant upgrade the product unless you buy a newer one. This further fuels customers to dish out more money for newer releases of hardware. What separates an individual that requires a gadget from somebody that merely wants one is extremely simple its having the understanding of how the product works and how it will improve that folks lifestyle. Someone that merely wants it'll grow bored or not use it to its true potential which is a waste someone's investment. If you have got a power house laptop and you are only looking it for Facebook youre not doing it right.

The Requirement Mindset

The requirement attitude is easy it needs an understanding on coming gizmos and weighing their advantages and drawbacks. Most of the time more modern hardware do exceed certain features from past releases but that doesn't mean that their forebears are inferior in nature. Remember a PCs use differs from individual to individual and they may need features that aren't present in their present system. So if you are thinking about purchasing the newest gadgets think on it first. You may regret it later on.
