Handy Apple IPhone Tips To Make Your Device Easier To Use

By Greg Holmes

The Apple iPhone was brought to market less than 3 years ago, in the summer of 2007, and when it was released it was a huge hit and it almost instantly changed the way that people defined a smart phone. There were many people who were previously intimidated by smart phones because they were hard to figure out and use. Because the iPhone is so easy to use, many more people were able to use this smart phone and users are always on the lookout for new Apple iPhone tips to help them get the most from their device.

In Apple iPhone news, one of the first general iPhone tips that many people are surprised to learn is how easy it is to rearrange the application icons on your iPhone. There are four default icons at the bottom of the phone when it comes out of the box, and those are shown all the time that you are browsing the iPhone apps, even when you flip to a second or third screen of applications.

This is one of the first Apple iPhone tips that any user should know. In order to move the apps on the phone, simply put your finger on one of the application icons and hold it until all the icons start wiggling around on the screen. Then, just touch the app you want to move and drag it to a new position, either on the current screen or on another screen by dragging it to the edge of the screen. When you have the apps where you want them, all you have to do is click on the "home" button.

If the application does not have the X in the circle, then it is a default iPhone application and cannot be deleted. But what if you don't want those default applications that you rarely, if ever use cluttering up your iPhone screen? You can group the applications you don't use much by simply dragging them to the next page or to the last page so they are out of the way. In this way you are able to prioritize the applications you want to see first.

You have even more control over arranging your applications from within the iTunes software program. iTunes is the free application that allows you to not only manage your music collection, but lets you manage and sync your iPhone software as well. When you are in iTunes, you can also drag icons down onto a "new" page that will be created. You will see a series of dots just above the permanent app icons that those dots indicate how many application screens you have.

Another of the best Apple iPhone tips that many people are not aware of is that you can take a screenshot that will capture whatever is on your phone's screen. All you need to do is press the home button and the power button at the same time. You should hear a click, like a camera shutter, if your sound is turned up. You will find your screenshot in the Photos iPhone app filed in the "Camera Roll" where your photo albums are listed.
