Ways to Make the HTC Inspire Battery Last Longer

By Gareth Jale

The HTC Inspire is one of the most exciting and accessible new Android smart phones on the market. Even though they come with many features, the 1230mAh battery that comes with the Inspire is not made to last forever. That's simply not enough for the modern power user, so in this article, we explore ways to extend it beyond that.

Of all the new 4G smart phones on the market for 2011, the Android-powered HTC Inspire is one the most exciting. It's also one of the biggest, and perhaps its most alluring feature is that large, gorgeous 4.3-inch capacitive touch screen. HTC even markets a wide range of accessories for the sole purpose of protecting that screen, and many people may want to opt for the maximum protection of a holster. The HTC Inspire, however, is not a perfect device, and one of the most common complaints is that the included battery is only 1230mAh, which amounts to at least 6 hours of talk time, which simply isn't enough for the modern user.

The obvious solution is to purchase an extended-life battery, but in this article, we're going to examine ways to get more out of that default battery. If you decide to upgrade the battery later, you can still put these power-saving techniques to use. As you might expect, that big bright beautiful screen is one of the primary power consumption culprits. Therefore, the first step you want to take is to turn down the brightness. You will notice that the screen is set to max by default and that is because of advertisement reasons set by the manufacturer. But you don't need that much light, and if you turn it down to the point where it still looks good to you, you'll save a lot of power.

There are also many applications that come preinstalled. Although that is not an issue, some of the applications run as services which will turn on or run whenever your mobile device is turned on. Perhaps the best way to get rid of everything is to set your phone to its default or factory state, and that way you'll know each app on the phone because you'll have to put them there.

You can also change your charging methods to make a difference for the better. Although the standard charger is good and not bad, you can invest in high quality wall charger. By putting a smart phone on a regular high-quality charge cycle, you can make sure that the battery is also operating at maximum efficiency.

Playing videos and using other resource-intensive capabilities drain a lot of power. That much is obvious, but many fail to realize how resource-intensive something as simple as browsing the Web can be. If you have to be on the Internet a lot, stick to the mobile webpage's as much as you can because those need hardly any power compared to the more elaborate pages.
