Notable Features of the HTC Thunderbolt

By Gareth Jale

The HTC Thunderbolt is Verizon's latest phone to use their very popular 4G network. The phone uses basic cell phone functions, like call and text. But the true definition of "smart phone" really comes from the Thunderbolt's capability to online.

The first thing to mention is that smart phones such do not provide access only to a version of the Internet expressly designed for mobile phones, and with limited content. But instead, smart phones can access the same Internet that you can reach from desktop computers. You can even access the Internet while on speakerphone, using it, for instance, to find a restaurant for a lunch with a friend that you are setting up over the phone. On a related note, this device and other smart phones generally provide access to e-mail systems through native applications that reside on the phones, so that one does not even have to browse e-mail providers' Internet interfaces to access and respond to one's messages.

The other main advantage of using smart phones is that so many "applications" are available that use the combined power of Internet and phone service to accomplish a surprising number of things from anywhere you may happen to be. These days you can use various applications to make dates with nearby people from your phone, or purchase movie tickets from nearby theaters online. Many public transportation systems, such as buses or trains, are now fitted with GPS devices that smart phone applications can use to estimate forthcoming arrival times, and you can even watch streaming videos online with most smart phone services.

Finally, some of the most famous applications for smart phones are often games. You'd be surprised to see how the games and applications look and what they can do. One particular game, "Angry Birds" has become a worldwide phenomenon on smart phones, and there is even talk of a full-length movie based on this game! You can also use your smart phone to play games against your friends and other phone users.

With so many uses this phone and other highly intelligent "smart phones," it is no wonder that a wide range of accessories available to enhance one's smart phone experience even further. For example, a case could really save you money, cause you never know when an accident happens, completely ruining your phone. Additionally, a screen protector can prevent damage to the screen that otherwise might occur from repeated usage.
