Should You Buy an iPad?

By Willie Cote

Now that the iPad has been on the market for about a year, it seems apparent that this product has made a real impact and won't be disappearing anytime soon. There are plenty of people who are eagerly awaiting, even now, the release of the next generation model to see what new delights it has to offer. You'll want to invest a little time into learning about the features and what they can mean for you before you make your decision whether or not to buy an iPad. We've reviewed these features to help you make your decision.

The iPad has built in speakers for easy listening of music and videos without the use of headphones. In some instances you may want to use headphones anyway and you have this capability too. It's pretty convenient to be able to hear a movie in a social setting too.

If you already use an iPhone and are familiar with many of the apps that work with it, you'll be glad to know that most of them will also work on an iPad. You can easily synch apps from your iPhone or iPod to your iPad. Still growing is the number of apps available for these devices, currently at 100,000. These applications allow you a wide variety of services as well as being able to get magazines, games, and various kinds of information. Inexpensive apps are plentiful for Apple products and you can actually find a lot for free.

Apple does not support flash on this device because of the fact that it's slow and hogs your memory. You Tube is already experimenting with HTML5 to rectify that issue and it's likely that will be available in the future. You might not be happy with the iPad if you need flash to access website features.

With its own features and capabilities, it can be thought of as a hybrid between laptop and phone. The iPad can't take pictures, but people still love it for its simple and easy interface and the high definition screen. We've explored a few of the iPad's pluses and minuses in this article to help you decide if this is a "must have" for you, or something you'd rather pass on.
