Choosing The Right Cell Phones

By Robert Velasquez

Choosing cell phones is not quite as important as choosing your spouse, but you may end up having to keep it a lot longer. A typical cell phone comes packages with a contract that averages about two years long. You will be using this toy for a long time. Make sure that it is of good quality and you are comfortable with the features before making your final decision.

Aside from selecting a carrier, one of your most important decisions when it comes to a cell phone is whether you will go with a smart phone or a basic phone. Both types of phones will allow the user to make calls, at the very least. The great consideration might be the differences in the cost of monthly plans for each phone. However, keeping in mind that these differences exist, the user must take a look at the difference between the two and be sure that he selects the one that is right for his lifestyle and budget.

The smart phone works on an operating system and the end user will be able to access the Internet on a regular basis, including email. The smartphone user will also be able to create, edit and email documents when using the phone. The smart phone will also be able to download and install a number of applications on the Internet. The basic phone may not be able to do much more than allow the user to make and receive phone calls and voicemails, and possibly to text.

Let us face it, books are judges by their covers. Phones are no different. Everyone wants a slick looking cell phone. However, try not to be swayed by colors, as there are so many different colors and designs for cases that the color and design of the actual phone does not mean much.

The keyboard is very important to some mobile users. Some people prefer a qwerty layout. That is, one that is laid out like a computer keyboard. Some can not picture life without a keyboard like this. Others do not care as much. Decide how important this is to your overall experience before shopping for a handset.

Compare review, whether they are on the Internet or in magazines. Make sure that they are recent and dependable. Also, you may want to canvas your friends and family for their personal experiences. Opinions from actual users can mean much more than a review from someone you do not know or have never met.

When you purchase cell phones it is one of the largest purchases of your entire year. It is likely that you will not purchase another cell phone for a year. Be sure that your model has all of the features that are important to you as an end user.
