Fixing Any Plumbing Damage In Your Home

By Hedrick Lepsch

In a surprising turn of events, the much anticipated and feared Hurricane Isaac turned south towards the Gulf of Mexico recently. The storm was originally anticipated to hit the entire state of Florida, potentially whipping out homes in its vicious path.

Thanks to protected watches, we can now carry the time with us into the pool. For most everything else, we need some kind of case to repel liquids.

The storm reached hurricane intensity on Tuesday, August 28, 2012, while bearing down on Louisiana. Although only a category one storm, it is not done growing yet.

As you are dealing with your plumbing damage you are going to need to start by shutting off your shutoff valve. When you shutoff your valve, you will be sure that water is not going to continually flow through the plumbing damage.

This city has just barely recovered from the hurricane damage from Katrina, which took out a majority of the city, destroying buildings and paths in its wake.

As soon as it is out, remove the battery, cutting the connection with electricity. Leaving the battery on can only do more harm than good as electricity can wreak havoc on the phone in the moist environment if left attached.

New Orleans sits below sea-level. A massive wall combined with a series of levees and pumps are the only things that keep the ocean from overwhelming the city. During Katrina's time, they had worked just fine the way they were, never having been tested against the strength of Katrina-a category 3. Since there had been no problems with the pumps before, they had no reason to assume that they couldn't do their job now.

Leaving your cell together will allow the water to seep into all the little cracks and damage your cell over a long period of time. Dry every visible surface using a dry towel or paper towel.

Once they were out of commission, there was nothing to keep the water from consuming the city in front of it. Since that time, professionals have repaired and strengthened the series of levees and pumps to handle the intense pressures of a city under siege.

A leaky washer and dryer can be extremely detrimental and you will need to have it fixed as soon as possible. If you do not feel that you are going to be able to fix your plumbing damage on your own, you should hire a professional as soon as possible.

With relatively slower winds and better levees, the city should stand a fighting chance against the disaster to come. Hurricane damage should be diminished at the very least.

Avoid turning your phone on before this step as it will likely cause it more damage than good. Make sure it's as dry as you can get it before giving it a second chance. Once you're satisfied with how dry your cell is, and then test it out. Turn it on and try out the features.

We can retain hope in the fact that the city looks in better shape than it ever has been before. With the improvements, lower intensity winds and strengthened wills against the storm, New Orleans still stands a fighting chance against the hurricane damage to come.
