The Apple Iphone 5S - Lovely Cellphone, But Is It Different Enough From Earlier Versions?

By Julie Pearson

The Apple iPhone 5S, while it appears to be very like the Apple iPhone 5 as well as the Apple iPhone 5C, is definitely fairly distinctive in numerous ways. Yet, are those variations going to be quite adequate enough to get it the consumer interest which Apple are expecting?

Truth be told that this scenario is nothing new for Apple. They marketed Smartphones before that had the exact same facade as a forerunner, nevertheless the interior had been beefed up quite significantly, and which case, it made for something of a totally different entity.

Which it is, of course. And it's not. Well, for the most part it is. To be sure, this is the style of move that only Apple will be able to pull off along with any kind of assurance: the thought that it can take precisely the same construction, include a fresh CPU, a somewhat superior battery and camera hardware, and consider it an all-conquering new gadget.

Of course, Apple Incorporated understand what they're doing. They already know there are scores of people around the entire globe who're eager to see precisely what the Apple iPhone 5S is all about, although it does indeed 'look' identical to a couple of the earlier devices.

You will find, needless to say, those individuals who would question the motive with regards to launching a cell phone and then, 12 months or so after, just add an 'S' to the end of it to make it appear 'diverse' - Apple's reaction would likely be that no-one is pushing that you as the consumer have to buy the new phone. And that's a reasonable point. Yes, this may be a cellular phone which includes many hallmarks of its forerunners. And yes, it is the third time Apple has done this.

Additionally, Apple has managed to place the phone onto the marketplace among the list of most expensive Smartphones around. You are looking at a price in excess of $80 monthly to get one with no upfront fee in the United States, and upwards of $800 is the cost if you wish the cheapest version of the 5S, going all the way up to over $1,000 for the 64GB variation.

iPhone 5S Review

However, if it were a really damaging business move, and if the market place was not willing to accept such a thing, then Apple would have folded as a Smartphone brand years ago... or at least to have been lagging severly behind their competitors.

Having said that, things are changing in the Smartphone marketing landscape. Where in the past, Apple was able to just produce the phone it wanted, and forget about its' competition, knowing that it wasn't going to have to be concerned about losing customers to a rival. Now it's been compelled to understand that there are actually at least four first rate options for a buyer to contemplate should they want to get a rather superior mobile phone handset.

Apple is clearly conscious of this marketing change, be it with respect to the aluminum unibody of the HTC One, or the recent fight into low-light digital cameras, or the necessity for a strong processor as being a great headline grabber. And to be fair, it's dealt with these kinds of needs to some degree or other with respect to the new iPhone 5S.

Regardless of whether it's the all-new Touch ID home button (which is, it should be said, certainly exceptional), the large jump in processor power, or the inescapable fact the camera has, yet again, been improved upon no-end, the latest iPhone is definitely Apple's attempt at bringing as much as it can to the party without having to re-design the complete concept once more.
