Apple IPhone 5 - Is There Any Truth To The Rumours Or Is It Just Hype?

By Abhik Nag

At the moment there are lots of Apple iPhone 5 rumours floating around the market place. It is very hard however to determine if these rumours are fact or fiction though. There is a strong chance that most of these rumours are false, created by people who are not affiliated with Apple in any way. Alternatively there has been much speculation that this could just be a strategy created by Apple to create considerable hype for its new iPhone 5 in an attempt draw peoples attention away from faults found with the Apple iPhone 4.

Make no mistake, the iPhone 4 is an excellent product. It is a more technologically advanced product than the earlier versions. It is quite different from the earlier models as it is packed with a few multitasking features. With its Retina Eye display and an improved 5 mega pixel camera this product is still very good. However, somewhere down the line Apple seems to have lost its way.

The iPhone 4 has been plagued with problems, such as, call drops and antenna issues. This has caused a large amount of negitivity from critics who have unnecessarily slated Apple. What they tend to forget however is that this is still the same model which sold 1.7 million units within the first few days of its launch. From then on the company has sold more than 14 million more units of this phone. When producing such large volumes of products such as the iPhone 4, a certain number of complaints are really just to be expected, they could even be considered normal. One of the other factors which has also hindered it was that it was not released in many Asian countries. This was made worse when Apple did not release White iPhone 4, resulting in people deriding the company.

The biggest rumour curently circling the internet is that the Apple iPhone 5 is going to be released this summer. Apple has released its new iPhone into the market at the same time of year consecutively year on year as part of its fixed cycle. This is the ideal season for the company to release their new model because it allows the new product time to establish itself within the market. Also by not releasing it until the summer, this gives Apple plenty of time to come out with both an innovative and new product at a time of year when people are looking for something new, innovative and more advanced to buy.

There is so much competition from other major players that these rumours may just be an indication of how Apple has been affected in the market place. With customers having other options to choose from, these are indeed tough times for the company. The Android offers users a similar experience that you enjoy with an iPhone 4. There are also other choices like the Samsung Galaxy 5 and the HTC Desire HD which are quite similar.

There are many people who are expecting the iPhone 5 to be introduced before the traditional June - July period. Though there are many rumours doing the rounds, you can be sure of a couple of facts. If and when the new model is introduced you will surely find the iPhone 4 problems with the antenna and also the reception quality vastly improved.

Apple has given no official response to the rumours so far. This however hasen't stopped any of the online mobile/cell phone websites from speculating about it.

The rumours give a good indication that the new version will have a much more complex operating system than the iPhone 4 has. This will improve the iPhone's ability to recieve access to 4G networks. There will also be a performance boost with the model's new 1.5 GHz processor. A new battery will also be included offering 7 hours of talk time on 4G networks and 14 hours on 3G networks.

Predicted memory features on the iPhone 5 are expected to be at around 32 and 64 GB, far exceeding the memory capacity of the iPhone 4, meaning that users will be able to both download and store more data and a considerably large amount of videos, songs and pictures.

Going by these rumours, the iPhone 5 is going to have a 4 inch display screen which is bigger than the traditional display screen. Now, this is something of a deviation for Apple since its other models come with a 3.5 inch display screen. The OLED touch screen display is shatter proof and also scratch proof which means you can use it as you please without worrying about any scratches or stains. You can also experience high quality pictures and images with a lot of clarity.

The new Apple iPhone 5 is expected to be powered by an Apple dual core A5 CPU and will have NFC support, as well as some amazing graphics. It is believed that there is a strong likelihood that it will contain more innovative features than its earlier versions. Including an 8 mega pixel camera which will greatly exceed the 5MP camera currently available on the iPhone 4. More of the advanced features could include an auto focus and GeoTagging for example, as well as, many more features which will improve overall image and video quality.

If these unverified rumours are to be believed, the new iPhone 5 is going to be the most advanced smart phone in the market. Even before any confirmation from Apple, there are many mobile handset sites that are touting this to be the ultimate product and that it is going to create huge demand in the market place.

If these rumours have any truth to them, then there will be so many great features available on the iPhone 5 that it will most certainly take the world by storm. A huge hype has been created around the new model due to these rumours. It could be seen that this amount of hype is a great way for Apple to create a loyal customer base and help them to escape from the scrutiny which they have been under for the earlier problems found with the iPhone 4. All of this before the new iPhone has even been released in the market place.

There are large numbers of people who are trying to find out about special iPhone 5 deals and have been calling Apple dealers. However, Apple have given no official word, so you will just have to wait for the big day.
