Aquapac Waterproof Headphones: Your Perfect Gadget for Summer

By Charlie Smith

There has always been a place for music in the human civilization since time immemorial. It has served a number of purposes ranging from relaxation, entertainment to simply fighting boredom or passing time. For whatever reason, people always try to add music to their daily activities. There is no longer a necessity for people to go to concerts or use their elaborate sound systems at home to quench their thirst for music. Our technological evolution has made it possible for us to enjoy music wherever we may be from the old portable radio, walkman and portable CD players to the more modern iPod.

The iPod is often used by people to listen to music while their on the road or even when they are exercising. There is no doubt that a good inspirational tune could give you a lift of energy while working out, having a long travel on the road or in a flight. At present, with the advent of waterproof cases and headphones, it is even possible to listen to your portable music devices even when swimming or underwater. The makers of Aquapac waterproof headphones had just those purposes in mind.

The Makers. These headphones are made by a company called Aquapac. It is based in London, England and has been in the business of making high quality waterproof protective cases for the past 27 years. Their product-line includes dry bags, camera cases, cellphone cases, iPod cases and the recent waterproof headphones.

The Design. Aquapac waterproof headphones have an in-the-ear design. As the name suggests, it is waterproof. It has a nickel-plated connector which is rustproof and may be used with iPods, portable CD players and any type of music player which has a standard headphone output. It comes with extra ear buds and a headphone buoy to keep it when not in use.

It also has a silicon tip which acts as a seal in the ears to keep the water from soaking through. These silicon tips are very solid and are very effective in preventing any water seepage unless they are removed on purpose or otherwise. However, since this is likely to happen when one is moving in the water, the ideal waterproof headsets should be completely impermeable by water. These headphones are ideal for activities in the water such as boating, swimming and snorkeling.

The silicon tips in the headphones are relied upon to create a seal in the ears to avert water from seeping through. The stiffness and solid design of the silicon tips is effective in preventing water intrusion unless the ear buds are removed on its own or is in any way removed. Since this is very possible when one is actively moving in water, the perfect waterproof earphones should be insusceptible to any form of water exposure.

Although, the name would give the implication that it is completely waterproof, the headphones cannot be submerged on its own under water since it would cause the sound to become muffled. It should always be placed on the ears to protect it from the water. However, a light dab with a dry towel would restore it to its normal sound.

As a final word, Aquapac waterproof headphones may be very valuable to those seeking to use their music players in the water. It is yet another example of ingenuity and the continuous desire for portability and comfort. We should expect better headphone designs in the near future.
