Apple IPhone 4 Accessories

By Steven Wright

This year's most anticipated cellular phone is the iPhone 4, hands down. Some are enamored with it, some despise it, some are envious and some don't care, but it's in the zeitgeist and sales are on a perpetual rise. The Apple iPhone 4 is the model cell phone; any missing features of functions can be provided from a collection of thousands of different programs. The iPhone's extensive app marketplace distinguishes it from the rest of the smartphones in this aspect, providing for near endless expandability of functions and features. It begs the question how an iPhone 4 can be improved when its functions are already infinitely expandable. Simply put, the only way to accessorize is to enhance its base qualities.

The first accessory one should shop for are Apple iPhone 4 Cases. Cases improve the life of the Apple iPhone 4 by protecting it from harm and keeping its display from scrapes. The recent glass design for the front and the back, in addition to, the external antenna bands make the Apple iPhone 4 more prone to a damage compared to prior models. Cases do come in any number of styles. Some are thin, intended to look like Apple products themselves, and others are more ostentatious, coming in vivid neon colors or animal print--often times both. Some are purposely made to be kept on the iPhone at all times, and allow for use, whereas others are intended for transportation.

The smallest netbooks, unlike iPhones, are still too big to easily fit in a shirt pocket. Regrettably, the original iPhone 4 charger is based on USB connectivity. If one is on the go, carrying a computer is not necessarily ideal, and odds are good that the iPhone was originally purchased to replace a bulkier laptop. Apple iPhone 4 accessories to charge exist for a a number of purposes. Apple iPhone 4 chargers can be purchased to enable the phone to be charged from ordinary 110V outlets and 12V vehicles. These chargers allow the iPhone 4 to go much longer between charges, regardless of whether or not you have a car, you'll be able to keep your iPhone powered.

In addition, Apple iPhone 4 external batteries can be purchased. Though the iPhone 4 will last a fair number of hours out of the box, external batteries can keep it powered even when no outlet is within reach, like on an extended plane trip. These batteries add to the weight of the iPhone, but still leave the smart phone lighter than a full-on laptop. External batteries can be charged in advance, and in some cases, a particularly resourceful or desperate traveler could carry extra batteries and keep their iPhone going for as long as they need.

Apple iPhone-compatible music docks are also available to improve the functionality at home. While an iPhone can be used as a personal music player, a music dock can extend its functionality to be a home entertainment system. Music docks are available at a wide variety of price points and can produce great quality sound. A music dock can also make an economical alternative to purchasing a new stereo for someone who has already purchased an iPhone 4.

External Apple iPhone 4 Bluetooth keyboards were unfortunately missing from the past models of the iPhone without sometimes dangerous hacks applied to the firmware, but the iPhone 4 offers full Bluetooth keyboard support. Bluetooth keyboards allow one to type for long periods of time; while the on-screen keyboard is effective for quick messages, long-term typing and document modification is arduous. Full Bluetooth keyboard support means that a business man can compose lengthy e-mails or a student can easily work on an essay while on the road. With the iPhone's many word processing applications available, the possibilities are endless.

The Apple iPhone 4 is a versatile cellular phone on its own, and needs nothing to make it more useful--but with suitable accessorization, an iPhone 4 can perform even more practically.
