Why Opt For Android Tablets Over Its Main Competition

By Angela Cullin

Android tablets have been conquering the gadget market for some time now. After the much-hyped Apple iPad has been introduced earlier this year by Apple chief Steve Job, other companies came up with their own creation using the Google-developed Android operating system. And because of the competition of companies that came up with their own version of Android tablets, buyers get more and improved choices.

Most likely because of it being an open platform, Android mobile OS is now the fastest growing phone platform nowadays. Although the popular iPad is still the industry's best seller, Android-run pads are giving the Apple gadget a run for its money.

Android tablets have many advantages over the other pad. For one thing, they give users absolute control over the plugins that they wish to apply. Consumers are free to add the ones that they think are necessary, and just delete the others. And while even the most current version of iPad still lacks Flash capabilities, Android tablets already have it.

The Apple OS is unsupportive of third party applications. It only lets consumers to use the programs and applications they included in the package and are available in their shop. But an Android tablet permits users to share the applications and plugins they have created on their own.

Buyers are also glad to learn that an Android tablet has an unrestrictive feature that allows files to be shared and managed trouble-free. Most Android tablets commonly have USB ports and micro SD card docks to allow file sharing and management, characteristics that buyers find very useful and necessary.

But first time tablet users may find using an Android tablet a little bit difficult to control. The touch screen feature causes separate keyboards and styli futile so consumers need to type through the onscreen keyboard and browse through touch.

An Android-based tablet, being an open platform, has several versions produced by several companies, which can be confusing for other users. Still, an Android tablet is more flexible, and gives users more alternatives. Unlike its main rival, which is regarded to be more of costly toy instead of a useful gadget, Android tablets have more uses and capabilities.
