Basic Features Of Cordless Phones

By Mark Pecson

Long gone are the days when we had to switch from our cordless phone to our wired phone for better clarity and less distortion. In the present day, they present to us almost no interference and better audio quality, including the cheap cordless phones.

Regardless of the price of a set of cordless phone, in a basic set it possesses a base and a handset. The transmission of voice data from the base to our handset uses a radio frequency of between 1.8GHz to 5.8GHz normally according to the different cordless phone which allows us to roam around freely without the need of getting disconnected.

Working with a cordless phone, our everyday life get more convenient as we have the freedom to change position without getting restricted by the length of the wire of a corded telephone. For example we can make our way to the kitchen and pick out a glass or two from the fridge for ourselves and returning to our computer seat and not having to ask the other party to wait for your return.

These days' expensive and cheap cordless phones alike, many of them present the basic features a phone should have.

Firstly it will be the Caller ID. The feature allows the screen on a cordless phone to come up with the name plus the number of the caller. This comes in handy when we are given the chance to decide if you should pick up or disregard the call. The number of ID a cordless phone could store varies but it is determined by the memory space given and the norm is about 50.

Next it is the Mute button. The button helps to stop the listener over at the other end of the phone to hear any form of sound your handset is obtaining. This is particularly useful when you are reaching a sensitive topic in your room with your family members or friends while you have another party on the telephone.

Lastly it is the Hold button. If we are receiving incoming calls while on the phone, the button allows us to to switch to it without the need of disconnecting the earlier call. By pressing the button again, it brings us back to the sooner call and the chat can be continued.

However if you are willing to spend on a cordless phone, some more features you would receive are intercom device between the base and headset, an answering machine to record a missed call and dialing restriction which prevents people from dialing to a certain selection of numbers.
