Strategies To Use The Reverse Telephone Number Lookup

By Marc Marseille

1. Check your rates for a reverse phone number

If you are using a landline phone, be certain that there are no extra charges related to using the service. Certain phone companies charge a fee for every time you use the code. So check with your phone company before you use it. This is as simple as calling the customer service line or going to website and reading the list of fees. If you decide you are still going to use the code, try to monitor how many times you use it so that you have an idea of what your bill will be.

2. Use the correct code

Asterisk, six, seven is the code to use the reverse phone number. Although similar, it is different from the code asterisk, six, nine. That code is used to make your phone number unavailable to other people when you call them. The reverse phone number code should work when used properly. Make sure you enter the correct code. An incorrect code can lead to calling the police department, poison control center or fire department. You don't want to call an emergency location and end up causing trouble. So make sure you enter the right code before you call.

3. It's not always successful

Some people permanently block their phone number. Their phone numbers appear as Unavailable or Private all the time. These phone numbers are immune to the reverse phone number technique. You will not be able to contact them using the code. However, very few people fall under that category. Most private numbers are made that way through a code or temporary phone settings. You are able to use the technique on those phone numbers.

4. Do not get too comfortable

After a while, you may end up using the code a lot. It's convenient because it saves time. But, using the code too frequently may cause you to forget numbers that you should have memorized.
