This is the one to get. I was concerned that it would obscure the USB port on the Droid X but it works great. I only knocked off a star for the vent mount problems but it is a very well-made product that has excellent value. Drive safe everyone! Blowing hot air behind it is probably not a good idea. Use a sun shield when parked, all plastics don't last long under the sun. I would not use the dashboard mount as I'm concerned about what the adhesive might do. Otherwise, the grips are padded so your phone is safe and secure. The phone doesn't move too much if any while going down the road. And it's not a bad price. Someone needs to tell the truth. I hope this counts as a verified user review.
Don't turn hard or your phone will end up under the gas pedal. I've had navigation systems and was not pleased with the suction cups. It moves around a bit. I have only used this item's vent mount. I use the vent mount. My only complaint is that the clips tend to damage/scratch the vents.
Super disappointing, but for many other devices I'm sure it will work fine. I have a Motorola Droid 2 with the Superior holster and case combination.
I read a review on here before I bought that the suction cup doesn't stay at all. Whoever wrote that review is straight up inept. You will not be disappointed. I have a 2003 Land Rover Discovery 2 and this product works perfectly.
I bought it for the vent mount capability as it seemed it would be the most convenient for both my vehicles. However, it wouldn't fit the vents in my truck and after mounting my Droid X in the vent mount in my car, the mount fell out of the vent.
However, this all changed when I went to do some voice control, and it simply wouldn't take any of my voice input. I quickly figured out why - the mount blocks the speaker/microphone on the back of the phone, and there is no way to avoid this besides using a Bluetooth headset or speakerphone device in the car. However, I purchased it on March 17th and it's already fallen apart - the plastic has completely disintegrated on the windshield mount where the angle adjustment knob attaches and the phone no longer stays in place. The air vent component still works, but it doesn't sit very well in my car and blocks the air vent completely (I'm using it with an iPhone) I can return it to the company for a replacement for $9 plus shipping - I only paid $15 for it at Amazon so that seems crazy.
