Editing videos on the iPhone

By Brooke L. Berry

Apple has only ever made one type of phone but nonetheless the iPhone has been staggeringly popular ever since it was first released. Before the iPhone phones were very limited and so upon its release it was immediately miles ahead of its competition. The iPhone allowed people to do things on a phone which they never could before. This ability came from downloadable applications which people could choose to have on their phone if they found them useful or entertaining.

People are able to do all of these things because of downloadable applications which are known simply as Apps and for those who like to create interesting videos the iPhone has plenty of Apps dedicated to video editing. iMovie is Apple's own video editing application and one of the most popular available. It allows people to edit their videos quite thoroughly and also add various effects to go with the type of video they are creating.

Cinecam is one of the most recent video editing applications which have been released and it offers far more than many of its competitors. Like a lot of the other applications Cinecam has plenty of effects including coloured filters and retro style frames but one of the biggest benefits is that people can share their videos. Straight from the App people can upload their masterpieces to sites like YouTube and Facebook for people to see.

Then there is Splice which takes on the form of conventional video editing software commonly found on Macs and PCs. Users can crop their videos, adjust the speed of parts and also splice in parts of different videos. This is an excellent feature as it allows means people don't have to film things all in one go and they can pick and choose between the parts they want.

Another good but quite basic video editor for the iPhone is Camera Plus Pro. Although this App is very simple to use and is limited in features it provides some fantastic results. The App consists mainly of just filters which if you already have a good video they can give it a polished finish.
