The 3 Coolest Cell Phones To Launch During The 2nd 1/2 2012

By Fausto Mendez

Cell phones pop up and vanish, but it is hard to keep an eye on the ones that are coming because they don't exist on the market yet. Today, our goal is to help you research the basic specs, features and guessed release dates of the five most anticipated cell phones to arrive in the second half of 2012. We do this to help be one of the earliest adopters of your next favourite gadget.

1. Up first, the iPhone 5 is among the most highly-anticipated cell phones these days. Because of the obviousness of this fact, we considered omitting the iPhone from the list, but then our list would not be terribly accurate. This next iteration may upgrade the display to 4 inches, but we doubt that'll occur.

Still, it's a real possibility , and it could be much harder to forecast Apple's moves now that its most influential leader has died. But if it continues in the same vein, the iPhone will often keep the 3.5-inch display, though leaks and rumors suggest the processor and case design will experience major upgrades. We smell some LTE connectivity coming too.

2. Though BlackBerry looks to be a sinking ship, the new BlackBerry smartphone is RIM's attempt at reviving the dying brand. It should ship with BlackBerry OS 10, which is a significant redesign of the BB O. S. We do not know much about this one yet, but RIM claims we should expect forceful consumber-based features, such as a novel, fun and helpful photo-editing and capturing app.

3. On the opposite side of the market, Sony's mobile phone brand is picking up since it adopted Android as its mobile OS. The Xperia Play 2 is one of these highly-coveted smarpthones, and it should feature similar PSP-like gaming controls as the first Xperia Play. Naturally, it's PlayStation licensed, meaning you can get PlayStation console games thru Sony's digital services to play on your Sony telephone or console of choice. This iteration upgrades the processor to a dual-core with a better GPU.
