I was concerned about this, as I didn't want to risk my new phone in something that wouldn't hold it right. But after trying it out, I'm very pleased with how snugly the mount grips the phone. I emailed the company and was promised a prompt replacement. After not receiving it (after 3 weeks), I tried to contact the individual who promised the replacement, and never received a reply.
It serves its purpose for purchasing it, and I am happy I got it. I like how it came with multiple mounting options since I wasn't sure if all of them would work.
I drive a Mini Cooper and I mount this to the speedometer which is really my dashboard, it sits nicely and holds my EVO perfect. This product is excellent but the cradle that it comes with, will not hold G1 type or sized phones. I agree with others that you will have to 'baby' the spring mounted sides that attach to your device to avoid breaking them. Since this was part of a "free shipping package" it's probably not worth returning. The adjustable holster is truly ingenious! I like this product very much. It goes on a clean windshield and stays there. The ball joint that connects the mount with an adapter for the cell phone holder is adjustable in tightness and can be rotated for optimal view.
I use this mount daily for my HTC Evo 4G, a very heavy phone, and it works perfectly. I bought the Exomount at the same time, and this beats it on just about every level.
I like the adjustable design so that it works with my iPhone 4 in many different case designs. All the buttons and dock charger are available.
It wouldn't work in my car at all. Finally, the mount holds your phone by gripping the left and right sides of the device.
As soon as it arrived I mounted it to my heater vent and took it for a test drive. I am amazed at how well it holds my Droid Incredible 2 while bouncing down our local dirt roads filled with pot holes and recommend to anyone in need of an easy to use mount especially if you use your phone as a GPS unit. All of the mounts work with the included holding piece. I'll review each piece separately. Using dash mount, very adjustable and holds the phone well. Product seems pretty fragile so I try my best not to move it but it works for the most part. If your phone has charging or audio ports in those areas, you might be hard-pressed to charge or plug into your car's aux port. I'd suggest this product to any Android user looking for a high-quality car mount.
Couldn't get the vent attachment to work on our vents (Toyota Siena), but the windshield mount works, and we were able to use our Incredible to navigate on a few long trips. We were able to access all of the buttons, and it's a pretty minor issue to have to put the phone in "Car Mode" yourself rather than having the mount do it for you.
