Knowing Stereotyping in High School

You will find so many personalities that make up the cultural strata of schools nowadays. These are labeling given to people typically during high school years, to classify them. Individuals who brand others with high school stereotypes are uninformed, have a minimal IQ, and do not comprehend the concept of personality. What are the essentials to being in a social stereotype? What can it do to our school atmosphere? Can it help in sustaining a sound school system? All these questions are quite challenging to answer and inexplicable.

There are the Jocks, They play all of the intramural sporting activities, get the coolest girls at the school, and though good-looking, they are identified for their lack of normal and general understanding. The cheerleader stereotype is that of a small-frame, beautiful hair, lively frame of mind, and overall aesthetically attractive. They are the aggressive girls in school, flawlessly complimenting the Jocks. Cheerleaders sport the most high-priced clothing brands and high end bags and throw the greatest events.

The Goths, who are into heavy metal and scream music can be found on their Apple iPods. The Goths in the majority of schools across the globe gather and huddle in groups and sit on the grass, contemplating nature. They wear outrageous outfits consisting of but not limited to: black fishnets, link chains, spike bracelets and necklaces, heavy eye makeup, and typically black garments. The geeks are not necessarily smart or valedictorian potential. They just don't go out on the week-ends, but stay in the house playing video games instead. Their cultural lives are limited and they dress in plaid shirts and high waist pants. Some are also recognized with their glasses and tooth braces.

The skaters and surfers skip class on a frequent basis. These are associated with drugs such as weed and idolize Bob Marley. The rocker punks really should not be confused with the Goths; they are more cultural with the other cliques. Some rocker punks are very intelligent and do fairly well in school. Their stereotype is indicated by tight pants, black jackets, and studded belts. They enjoy to hard core rock and roll music and attend shows of local bands on the weekends.

What ever group you belong to, for as long as you are clever and wise in getting your act together. You are in the "IN" masses.
