Terrible, So Do Not Buy This Item - Cell Phone Handlebar Mount Review

By Grace Jackson

Even with bumper and cases on it. I can see this working for many other devices too. Other than that, it's very adjustable, and easy to use. It's a perfect fit for the Droid X. It works great for me now; however I am a bit worried if this will last. It would be better if this was mechanical with some sort of manual tightening mechanism instead of being spring loaded. I give it 4 stars instead of 5 because the vent clip mount (which I was using while waiting for the suction cup) is not that great. It connects, but it's very wobbly.

I've only been using this for a day but it seems very secure. I honestly feel that I won't have trouble with the mount dropping my phone, and the only thing I'm wondering about long-term is how well the suction cup holds using the sticky pad. I didn't see any reviews from people with the D2G, so, if you have one and are wondering. It works fine!

I ordered the mount for my HTC Thunderbolt with an extended battery (so it's thicker than normal). I was hoping to use the vent mount, but the vent mount is pretty poorly designed. I knew that many holders wouldn't fit the X. But, this one does, and it's solid. This mount is perfect for the Sprint Evo 4g. It fits phone with all ports exposed.

You can mount your phone either vertically or horizontally. I have not tried the foam-tape attachment that sticks to the dash because the window mount was the least intrusive setup but that looks pretty solid as well. Sure it wobbles a bit when I push it with some force but it never wobbles when I make turns on my car or when I go up/down hills. I love the fact that the mount can swivel so I can either use my phone in landscape or portrait mode. The holder itself is a great solution for those of us with odd sized devices or devices with a protective case installed. I use my iPhone for XM radio and Navagon GPS navigation in my car. I haven't tried the dashboard mount or the windshield mount yet, but I'm sure they work even better. The air vent clip is a little tricky; I had to get it just right so it wouldn't slip out.

The swivel feature makes it easy to switch from portrait and landscape. Overall can't complain! Inserting and removing the phone is very easy, which is important since you'll be doing that quite often! It's very simple to install, though be aware that there's only one windshield adhesive so you can't use the windshield mount in more than one car.
