What Am I Paying For? - Bike Phone Mount Critique

By Emma Patterson

For those of you with a smartphone and who are not willing to pay a high price for a real GPS system from Garmin, you might wish to consider this product. The product itself comes with a windshield mount. The suction thing works great! I didn't use the sticky plate thing that came with it, the adhesive part didn't really take to my cars dash all that well.

My car has some has some aftermarket add-ons that unfortunately make the car vibrate like crazy at 3k RPM, and this cheap looking arm stuck to the window just sits there, vibrating with the car merrily away. Never drooping down, or sagging. I can easily plug my car charger into the phone, and also the aux cable to listen to my music or podcasts. I use this every single day, and I wouldn't do that if it was a pain.

I use it daily and have never once fallen off my windshield after about a years' worth of use. I highly recommend this.

This product fit my Galaxy S2 with no problems. If you can find this cheap, it is a really good buy! I still prefer to use it on my windshield however, but that's just me. It's made of plastic, but the build quality is solid, and I have no worries about it breaking. I like the adjustable design so that it works with my iPhone 4 in many different case designs. All the buttons and dock charger are available. It holds the phone very tightly and I just need to push one button to release it. I bought this to mount to air vents as the windshield in a 2005 Durango is pretty far forward from the driver.

Works like a charm. It doesn't affect vision of wind shield. I wanted something that would hold my Droid, which has the hard case around it. This works great. I only knocked off a star for the vent mount problems but it is a very well-made product that has excellent value. Drive safe everyone! The adapter had enough adjustment to securely fasten to the vent. It also allows for 360 degree rotation of the holder, with some angling ability, and can be locked in any position. There is no interference with the power plug. The side clamps are notched so they don't make contact with the volume controls.

A quick and easy solution was to add a small piece of rubber tubing to each plastic clip. The vent mount is now rock solid, like the windshield mount.
