Does Jailbreak Software Actually Exist?

By Gentri Clark

I heard something patently ridiculous the other day. A friend of mine was saying that he heard there was no such thing as jailbreak software. He said that, according to his information, all sites offering this type of application were not for real, and that only expert hackers could jailbreak an iPhone.

This week, I'll be giving you the same reply that I explained verbally to him: breaking an iDevice on your own involves digging through hundreds of thousands of lines of programming. Normally, cartels of elite programmers slave away for months and months on making a crack for each iOS that is made available from Apple. Without instructions, it could take a regular person a lifetime; Even if you had instructions, you are staring down a week's worth of toil. Millions of people have jailbroken their cell phones as of this year. Do you really surmise that every one of them all had the hacker skills (and the drive) to spend hours upon hours upon hours hacking lines of script, in the recesses of their mobile device operating system, to hack their iPhone/iPad/iPod? Are all of them hacking geeks?

Or do you think that it is much more likely that most of the millions of people with cracked iPhones have no hacking skills whatsoever and have actually bought the best jailbreak software that they could find to unlock their phones.

And if they're doing it automatically, then where do you think they're getting the applications? Does it appear like magic on their computer? Or are they buying it from a website? If all places on the web offering programs to crack your cell phone were scams, then no one would have a jailbreak on iDevice except for a few elite geeks.

I'll elucidate further: Every single vendor offering applications for unlocking is happy to accept Paypal. Paypal exists to make sure that you don't get conned. When you pay for something online with a company like Paypal, and the website steals the money you gave them or sends you merchandise or software that doesn't meet your requirements, then you can get a refund through Paypal with two clicks - no questions asked. If these jailbreak businesses were stealing people's money, then every person that they stole money from would be asking for refunds, and the sites would not make a profit. So, you should be able to understand now, they possess no reason to con you.

Do you see now? Do you understand after reading this why ninety-nine percent of all iGadget jailbreak software sites are on the up and up? It would not make financial sense for them to scam their customers - they would not make any dough!
