What To Expect In The IPhone 5

By Peter Salis

The whole world is a witness to the frenzy that gripped masses at the launch of iPhone 4. It debut with a bang when every one went mad about owning fourth product of this amazing series. It would not be an understatement to say that it became the apple of eyes of everyone within no time.

Numerous features have been added and previous ones were improved in iPhone 4. The camera was much better than the earlier versions and multitasking on it was fun. It was well ahead of its competitors and had topped most product review charts with ease. It was heading for greatness, but probably some features made Apple to rethink about its masterpiece.

If the grapevine has to be believed, Apple might be pushing for an early release in the year 2011. It can be as early as January 2011 and multiple gossip columns are pointing towards the same conclusion. The company seems being concerned about mending fences with the disgruntled owners of the current version. Till now, a routine was being followed for releasing new models, but this trend is probably going to break.

In better times, Apple would release its phone once in a year, mostly around middle of the year. When the product would be well received by the consumers, it would get their feedback and make necessary improvements. This cycle went on for many years, but it may break this time.

It can ill afford to carry on with the faulty signal of the current feature. As soon as the iPhone 4 had hit the shelves, its owners reported calls getting lost midway. The photographs taken with the camera on its rear were far from being perfect. So was its glass shield which tends to break even on slightest fall. It is being hoped that the new product will at least improve on these problems while introducing some new features.

It is being expected that the new product will have a bigger screen of around 3.7 inches. Since 4G connectivity is just around the corner, it is expected to have this feature. There is a hope that Near Field Technology (NFC) will be incorporated into it as well. This technology will enable it for use as a virtual credit or debit card.

The iOS 5, new operating system, will also be unleashed along with it. Customers have repeatedly demanded for support for more service providers, in addition to ATT. It remains to be seen whether Apple cedes to this demand.
